G&C Mutual Bank is a long-term partner of Barnardos Australia via the Australian Mutuals Foundation (AMF), through participation in staff volunteer days, fundraising events and gift drives.
NAIDOC week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth. To celebrate NAIDOC week 2023, the Barnardos Auburn Centre hosted a centre-wide event including children and staff from the Yurungai Learning Centre, Redfern and the Ultimo Early Learning Centre.
Staff members from our Marketing and Projects Teams joined staff from other mutual banks and educators at the Auburn Centre to facilitate planned activities such as, face painting, Indigenous art and craft, and sand art to name a few. The team also helped to prepare meals and with the post event pack up.
Being a member owned bank - a customer focused, values-driven organisation with strong community ties being an integral part of our past and future success – these opportunities to support organisations such as Barnardos Australia are especially important to us and our staff. G&C Mutual Bank provide staff members with one paid volunteer day per year as part of a volunteering program that supports the bank’s brand proposition – Banking on your community. We look forward to future opportunities to continue our support of Barnardos Australia and the AMF.
