G&C Mutual Bank has sponsored the NSW Ambulance Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year Awards for over ten years. It’s our way of thanking NSW Ambulance employees for their service to the community.
During 2020, a year unlike any other, NSW Ambulance employees faced unprecedented challenges in the line of duty to support the people of New South Wales. The 2020 Employee of the Year has been selected from the Honour Roll of monthly award recipients and we are delighted to announce the recipient.
The 2020 Employee of the Year - Jaime Warhurst, Acting Duty Operations Manager (A/DOM), Hamilton Station
Jaime received this prestigious title at the NSW Ambulance’s 125 Year Anniversary Graduation and Awards Ceremony, which was held at City Recital Hall in Sydney on 23 November 2020. She was presented with the Employee of the Year Award by the Hon. Brad Hazzard, Minister for Health and Medical Research.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jaime independently initiated, constructed and implemented a successful Paramedic Self Reporting and PPE Audit system,” Minister Hazzard said on the day.
“This has helped NSW Ambulance identify COVID-19 hot spots, PPE usage and stock levels, staff who may be at risk of exposure, and provides a real-time communication channel between staff and managers.”
The systems Jaime implemented also help staff access the latest information available on the pandemic, assist in PPE distribution and management, and act as a timely notification and escalation portal that improves staff wellbeing and safety.
“Jaime goes above and beyond in her role of A/DOM and often works additional hours to facilitate camaraderie, open communication channels and limit the burden on management and staff,” he said.
Jaime said she was shocked to be honoured with the title. “It was surprising to say the least, especially because there’s a bunch of really awesome people who have done amazing things this year. Not just the other employees of the month, but people all over the organisation,” she said.
Having started her career with NSW Ambulance in 2007, Jaime has over a decade of experience in the job. She has spent the last two and a half years in the Hunter New England sector, recently as A/DOM and Station Officer at Hamilton Station. You may remember Jaime as the recipient of the NSW Ambulance Employee of the Month for May.
In recognition of her achievement, Jaime was presented with a trophy and will be featured on the staff honours board for 12 months. She also receives a $2,000 G&C Mutual Bank savings account, one night's accommodation in a hotel and an invitation to lunch with executives from NSW Ambulance and G&C Mutual Bank.
Congratulations to Jaime from all of us at G&C Mutual Bank.
