G&C Mutual Bank has sponsored the NSW Ambulance Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year Awards for over a decade. It’s our way of thanking NSW Ambulance employees for their service to the community.
The Employee of the Year has been selected from the 2023 Honour Roll of monthly award recipients, and we join NSW Ambulance in congratulating this year's winner.
Employee of the Year, 2023 - Adam Sutherland, Intensive Care Paramedic/Station Officer - Randwick Station
In addition to his NSW Ambulance Employee of the Month Award win in April, Adam has also been named as the NSW Ambulance 2023 Employee of the Year, receiving his award at the Graduation and Awards Ceremony held on Friday, 8th December 2023. The award was presented by NSW Ambulance Commissioner, Dominic Morgan and G&C Mutual Bank's Vanessa Tomic, Executive Manager – People, Culture & Sales.
What sets Adam apart is his constant drive to help others; readily sharing his knowledge and experiences, tapering learning to individual needs, and becoming a guiding light for staff with their professional development.
He is constantly curious, striving to learn. With an innate appreciation of the benefits of learning he is a strong advocate for continual education and professional development, both on road and within the station. He is said to have a gift for challenging staff to better themselves through skill development – and is a passionate paramedic who drives a focus on patient care.
Through his hands-on approach he has enhanced the workplace culture at his station by implementing educational discussions and organising monthly hands-on skills training, which has also boosted staff engagement. He looks to his peers to better focus these training sessions as needed for the team.
In recognition of his achievement, Adam receives a $2,000 G&C Mutual Bank savings account. Congratulations to Adam from all of us at G&C Mutual Bank.

Each month, a staff member is recognised with the Employee of the Month Award for demonstrating outstanding performance or innovation. At the end of the year, the Employee of the Year is chosen from the Honour Roll of monthly award recipients.
