Each month, NSW Ambulance employees nominate a colleague for the Employee of the Month Award, which is proudly sponsored by G&C Mutual Bank. The award recognises those who go above and beyond for their team and the community.

Tommy Lam,
Extended Care Paramedic
Tommy has become an integral part of onboarding new Extended Care Paramedics (ECPs) at Bankstown. Having been through the experience starting out as a new ECP himself, Tommy was keen to pass on the knowledge he'd gained.
He created one comprehensive induction resource to help new ECPs. "The biggest thing for me when I started out was getting used to how the whole role works," he said. "The resource grew out of a kind of welcome letter to new ECPs." Tommy says "It's a steep learning curve. I just wanted to lessen the logistical burden for other ECPs coming through."
As well as his resource Tommy has acted as a mentor and peer support person to new ECPs.
