We’re delighted to announce the recipient for November 2021: Jo Knight. Congratulations, Jo!
Jo Knight, Procurement/Personal Protection Equipment Relationship Manager
Jo has been credited with helping to ensure staff have been protected with appropriate PPE throughout the pandemic, while maintaining her regular duties in procurement.
She has gone above and beyond to create her own algorithms for PPE usage, engage with on-road staff and work tirelessly to ensure urgent deliveries make it to the desired location.
Jo said she was “speechless” when advised she was the monthly winner.
“It was very humbling to be recognised by my peers,” she said.
Jo received a $250 G&C Mutual Bank savings account, and she has the opportunity to receive a further $2,000 G&C Mutual Bank savings account for the NSW Ambulance Employee of the Year Award. The recipient of the Employee of the Year Award will be chosen from the 2021 Honour Roll of Employees of the Month.

Daniel Kearney, Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) and Team Leader at Tamworth Helicopter Base
Daniel has been praised for helping to oversee the implementation of NSW Ambulance COVID-19 policies on the base, as well as helping to facilitate the training of staff in specific skills during the emergency response to the pandemic.
“It’s very humbling and completely unexpected,” he said of being nominated by his peers.
“I suppose most people don’t like to receive accolades but it certainly is very much appreciated.”

Kirsty Lowder, Paramedic
Kirsty has been credited with managing the distribution of PPE to 500 paramedics within the Sydney & South East Sector.
She has also been responsible for managing PPE audits and ensuring all paramedics are supplied with their fit test mask, as well as having adequate stocks of correctly-fitting gowns.
Kirsty has been described as a staff member who has demonstrated a high level of initiative and responsibility above her role, quickly becoming a valuable authority for PPE information in the sector.
“I’m incredibly humbled,” Kirsty said of being nominated by her colleagues.
